We've stayed at many wonderful places on AMI, but we LOVE Casa Azul!
Beach: It's a short walk to the beach entrance (walk out the front door, turn left onto 63rd, turn right onto Holmes, turn left onto 65th, and you're a block away) which is especially nice because there isn't really any other access between 65th and 55th.
Everything You Need: We loved that the house was fully equipped for a day at the beach - a wonderful umbrella (better than our rented umbrella), 4 beach chairs, several towels, some toys, a cooler, AND a foldable beach buggy (be ready for some cardio when you hit the sand!). Not only that, there is a baby gate which worked great on the front porch, several pool loungers, an outdoor dining table with an umbrella, a grill, and a pretty good mix of kitchen equipment (we cooked 90% of our meals at home with mostly ease).
Backyard: The pool is absolutely lovely, and it's pretty private thanks to all the palm fronds. The timed lights on the stairs were a very nice touch for evenings spent chatting by the pool, and the carpeted stairs make a BIG difference. In the mornings when it was cool out, we enjoyed opening the big sliding glass doors (watch your fingers!) and letting in the morning breeze.
The house itself is really lovely, with tall ceilings and doors, and lots of lovely artwork.
Our only complaint would be the shared AC for upstairs/downstairs as it was VERY hot upstairs unless the thermostat was turned down to 70 degrees, with the door left open all night. Thankfully our downstairs guests were okay with bundling every night so that we could sleep comfortably.
We hope to return in the future!
